Disney's Hollywood Studios Overview
General
Disney's Hollywood Studios recently changed name from MGM Studios in January 2008. The park opened May 1st 1989 and celebrates the movie making magic of Disney. Around the park you will see many film sets and live film shoots, you will feel as though you are in Hollywood!
This park holds most of the big thrill rides that Disney World has, including: The Tower of Terror and The Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. Along with these rides many spectacular breath taking shows are to be found here, Lights Motors Action Extreme Stunt Show can be found here as well as Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, both of these are fantastic you will feel as though you are living the movies!
How to get to Hollywood Studios
Unlike other parks Hollywood Studios has two entrances, both can be accessed from World Drive. The parks are very well signed from all the main roads e.g. I-4 and the US-192. As with all the parks, you will approach a toll plaza where you can purchase a car park ticket. Once through the plaza follow the signs and you will be directed by a cast member where to park.
Make sure you note down where you park your car because you'll be amazed how hard it is to find your car again after a day in the parks! - Take a photo if needed!
Once parked walk to the end of the car park (follow everyone else!) and catch the tram to take you to the entrance.
If you are staying at the Disney resorts then different transport options apply. If coming from the EPCOT resort area resorts (e.g. Beach Club, Boardwalk, etc.) then you have two options: either walk or catch the boat. The friendship boats stop outside of the resorts and run to the studios roughly ever 10-15 mins. It takes around 5 mins to get to the studios from the last stop (Swan & Dolphin). The boats are a great way to get to the studios if you want a nice way to get there and not short on time, but if you want an alternative or are running short on time then you can walk down the path which follows the river to the studios. From the Epcot resorts lagoon it is around a mile to the studios.
If you are coming from any of the other Disney resorts then bus transportation will be your option.

There are many more attractions all of which are great! There is something for everyone in this park!
Entertainment
Hollywood Studios has lots and lots of fantastic entertainment, as you would expect from Hollywood! You will find the hugely popular High School Music Parade along with many other shows including Fantasmic where you can watch Mickey battle his enemies with fireworks and lasers, set over a lake!
Pick up an entertainment guide as you enter the park (they are located in the tunnels under the train station along with the maps) to see the times of the shows
The main parade is performed daily around 3:30pm and is called the "Block Party Bash Parade". It is a new parade and replaced the old "Stars and Motor Cars" parade. For more info on this parade please select it from the menu.
Dining
Hollywood Studios is not as hot on food as Epcot but it still has some brilliant restaurants. The Studios offer a wide variety of restaurants from Quick Service to Signature. For more details on the dining at the Studios please select the option from the menu.
