Orlando Weather Overview

For a start, Florida is known as the “Sunshine State” hence it has great weather compared to the UK. With Summer averages around 92 (f) or 33 (c) along with an extreme level of humidity, around 90% in the mornings and 60/70 % in afternoons, sometimes it can feel quite uncomfortable.

The weather in Orlando falls into two main seasons: the hot season (Summer) and the dry season (Winter). Orlando has a sub-tropical climate which is warm and humid all year round. Humidity is at its highest in the summer months (June to October).

The great temperatures all year round means water parks and swimming pools are open all year around.

Below is a table showing the average temperatures and rainfall amounts.

Summer

The summer months are both the hottest and the wettest time of the year! The temperatures begin to rise in May and last until October. Summer temperatures include daily highs rising above 90 F and night time temperatures rarely falling below 75 F!

In the Summer months Orlando is hit almost daily by strong afternoon thunderstorms which often consist of high winds, hail and fierce lighting!

The Summer months are also famous for Hurricanes (Hurricane season = June-October). Despite a risk, do not let this put you off going in the Summer. As a general rule - the later in the hurricane season (September) you go, the more likely you are to get caught in one.

Warning - It can feel very uncomfortable in the Summer months due to the high temperatures and high humidity!

Winter

Orlando has one of the best winters around. Orlando winters are like British summers; they are warm and dry.

January and February are typically the coolest months, however in saying this the average minimum ranges from 9.4°C to 10. 5°C and the average maximum ranges from 21.6°C to 22.7°C - so its hardly unbearably cold!
